Can you imagine Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills in autumn? It is right next door to the Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens, between Crafers and Uraidla. With the colours of the gardens and the open views of Uraidla.
The Fresh Air Friday group often has it on the calendar for this time of year. Last week we spent the first of our three Friday mornings up there. It was a grey morning and much colder than the plains. Having left my cardy on the couch I put on my painting shirt and apron just for warmth. Certainly not for attractiveness or style…

Last Friday there were intermittent splashes of sunshine which lit up the colour. I loved the brilliance and lashed into the painting quite boldly.

There is a little more to do in the foreground. My colleagues warned me that the leaves would not be there next week, but my imagination will see me through.

I can’t wait for Friday. Please don’t rain!
